چکیده
Objectives: to verify the effects of a speech therapy intervention program in children after moderate and severe traumatic brain injury using electrophysiological behavioral assessment central auditory processing. Method: Five aged 9 11 years old who suffered closed trauma or degree for at least 6 months, right-handed, literate before injury, diagnosed with Central Auditory Processing Reading Writing Disorders. Ten sessions were held, covering area language training activities. Children submitted evaluation Long Latency Evoked Potential processing, pre post intervention. Results: Statistically significant, intervention, LLAEP tone burst, there was an improvement latencies N2 component both ears P3 right ear. CAPD improves memory test verbal sounds sequence white noise Conclusion: After individuals TBI it observed: reduction latency N1 left ear, burst; components N1, P2 ears, only complex stimuli performance tests processing noise.

Behavioral and electrophysiological auditory processing measures in traumatic brain injury after acoustically controlled auditory training: a long-term study
OBJECTIVE To investigate the long-term efficacy of acoustically controlled auditory training in adults after tarumatic brain injury. METHODS A total of six audioogically normal individuals aged between 20 and 37 years were studied. They suffered severe traumatic brain injury with diffuse axional lesion and underwent an acoustically controlled auditory training program approximately one year b...
متن کاملSpeech development and auditory performance in children after cochlear implantation
Abstract Background: The aim of this study was to determine the auditory performance of congenitally deaf children and the effect of cochlear implantation (CI) on speech intelligibility. Methods: Aprospective study was undertaken on 47 children in a pediatric tertiary referral center for CI. All children were deaf prelingually and were younger than 8 years of age. They were followed up until 5...
متن کاملEffect of Nesfatin-1 on Permeability of Blood Brain Barrier, Neurological Score and Brain Edema after Traumatic Brain Injury in Male Rats: A Behavioral and Biochemical Study
Background and purpose: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the most complex diseases of the central nervous system (CNS). Nesfatin is an 82-amino acid effective polypeptide in CNS. In this study, we investigated the role of nesfatin in neuron protection in the process of diffuse concussion in rats and also its effect on the level of matrix metalloproteinase-9. Materials and methods: In thi...
متن کاملHypothermia therapy after traumatic brain injury in children.
BACKGROUND Hypothermia therapy improves survival and the neurologic outcome in animal models of traumatic brain injury. However, the effect of hypothermia therapy on the neurologic outcome and mortality among children who have severe traumatic brain injury is unknown. METHODS In a multicenter, international trial, we randomly assigned children with severe traumatic brain injury to either hypo...
